ADaM 2011 --------- Copyright © Drake Lane Associates Ltd. 2009-2012. All rights reserved. Version history --------------- 2011.03 [15-Mar-2012] - New - Added field ProgType to the Excel exports and on screen data viewer. - Added functionality to the 'Select files' wizard stage to optionally allow ILR returns to be specified manually rather than determined automatically. Please see user guide for more details. - Modified - Changed custom message dialogs to include audible warnings. - Warning message added to 'Welcome' wizard stage when software update check could not be performed automatically. - Bug fixes - FFI field correctly named 'Fully Funded Indicator' instead of 'Additional Learning Needs Indicator'. - OK message box now always appears on top at the end of the process. Previously it may not have been visible if using a different application whilst importing and could appear that ADaM was frozen at 100%. Alt-Tab tab back ADaM would correct it. - Missing field LearnAimRef in the ILR file no longer crashes the application and are instead rejected (the same way as the date fields). - Running the Re-calculate reports option without files selected no longer causes an unhandled exception. - Minor display issues such as icons and long file names fixed. 2011.02 [10-Feb-2012] - Modified - Made the Changes by Learning Aim report view window so that it works the same as all other report windows. - Files with invalid data such as bad dates or fields that are too long no longer stop the import with an error. Instead only the entity with the invalid the data would be thrown out for that row. The data thrown out is logged and the amount that failed (if any) are displayed at the end. - Added another validation rule for ILR and LARA file and paths. They must not contain single quotation marks. An error is displayed when they are selected rather than the import failing half way through. - Message dialog layouts have been re-designed. - Bug fixes - If version 2011.00 was already installed on the system the installer was not updating the database to version 2011.01 meaning that some of the bug fixes were not applied. To prevent this issue from this version onwards the database name is appended with the version number. 2011.01 [20-Jan-2012] - New - Two new reports DM5d, DM5e that show movements that have gone up or down a level. - Functionality to allow users to view databases saved in the previous version of ADaM. - A 'Window' menu, providing another way to access various screens that have already been opened. - Modified - Does not show any data in previous reports section when a report is compiled for the first time. - Removed non-functioning buttons from the report viewer. - A few text and layout changes. - It no longer automatically skips over the LARA tab, though it still does not import by default if it has been imported previously. - The headers on the changes by aim report are now shown on each page, rather than just the first. - Bug fixes - Fixed a crash error that occurs on import if the name and path of a file selected is more than a certain length. - Fixed the 'Impact' description not fitting on the report DM4f. - Prevented a crash that occurs if the installed license key is selected as the license file to install. - Cancelling the 'Save grid to...' dialog on the ILR changes screen no longer crashes the application. Dialog title also re-named to 'Save as'. - Fixed a rare import crash caused by the changed structure of the Learner Provider Specified Monitoring entity. - Fixed the error 'A duplicate value cannot be inserted' that can sometimes occur after many files have been imported. - Fixed an issue that was causing the automatic version update check to not work. 2011.00 [08-Dec-2011] - Initial release. Supported operating systems --------------------------- Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) or above. Learning Aim Reference Application (LARA) ----------------------------------------- The Microsoft® Access database available for download from https://gateway.imservices.org.uk/sites/LARA/Pages/LARADownload.aspx is required. Other software -------------- Viewing of Help documentation and exported report data in specific file formats requires the appropriate software to be installed. Installation ------------ If you are continuing to use versions for previous academic years please install to a different directory. Prior to installation, it is recommended that any existing beta or demo versions of this software are uninstalled. Using ADaM ----------- Always use the shortcut in your 'Start' menu or on your 'Desktop' to run the software. The initial setup wizard will guide you through the process of using the software for the first time. Please see the Help documentation for more details. Uninstall --------- Use 'Add/Remove Programs' (Microsoft® Windows® XP) or 'Programs and Features' (Microsoft® Windows® 7) in Control Panel.
